Paul F. Caranci

Biography


Paul is an incorporating member of the Association of Rhode Island Authors and has served on its Board of Directors for the past 5 years. A Former RI Deputy Secretary of State and town councilman, Paul is the author of eight books including his memoir, Wired: A Shocking True Story of Political Corruption and the FBI Informant Who Risked Everything to Expose It.

The Providence Journal named his second book, The Hanging & Redemption of John Gordon, one of the top five non-fiction books of 2013. Paul’s sixth book, Scoundrels: Defining Corruption Through Tales of Political Intrigue in Rhode Island, won a Dorry Award for the top non-fiction book of 2016 and his most recent book, The Promise of Fatima: One Hundred Years of History, Mystery and Faith was recently named a finalist in the International Book Awards.

Paul has also authored two “how to” books; one intended for real estate agents teaches how to list For Sale By Owners (FSBOs), and the other written as a guide to those interested in running for local political office.

Paul also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Rhode Island Publication Society and is a former member of the Boards of Directors of the Heritage Harbor Museum, the Heritage Hall of Fame, the Diabetes Foundation of RI, The American Diabetes Foundation, RI Affiliate and the Governor’s Commission on Disabilities
