Joseph Dziobek
Biography
“Like A Love Song” is the first soon to be published work of poetry by Joseph (Joe) Dziobek a retired healthcare administrator. The title of the book comes from a line in the song: “Butterflies and Rainbows” which he wrote, recorded, and released in May (2025). The poems were inspired by the beauty and tranquility that he experiences living so close to the ocean. Wonderfully illustrated by Maia Jansson they are reflections on life, love, spirituality, the ocean, and nature.
Joe’s career as an innovator and administrator of behavioral health services began after visiting a relative in a state hospital. Struck by the stark nature of the facility and hopelessness that pervaded the room, he dedicated his life to creating community alternatives that incorporated the arts as a key component. In 2013, he received the Impact Award for Visionary Leadership from the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare for the development of “Studio 35” which encapsulated his approach. A prolific singer/songwriter, a number of his songs have been professionally recorded including: “Caregiver’s Song” (2010), “Miracle for Love” (2011), and “Season of Light” (2013). His one-act play entitled: “The Faces of Homelessness” was performed by the Contemporary Theater Company in 2017. He resides with his wife, Linda in Snug Harbor, RI.
