Rick Billings is an artist and illustrator living and working in the Northeast. As a young boy he loved watching Saturday morning cartoons while trying to draw them. Some of his favorites were Underdog, Heckle & Jeckle, Tennessee Tuxedo and of course, the Warner Brothers features. As a grownup he greatly admires the art of Gris Grimly, Edward Gorey, Skottie Young and the always wonderful Theodor Geisel – Dr. Seuss. His stories and art often have a slightly macabre twist and reflect the influence of many of his heroes including Shaun Tan, Neil Gaiman and Tim Burton and Edgar Allen Poe. When he’s not drawing and painting he is often out riding his bike, listening to fine music, or walking Nala, the dog of joy. She is featured on his website-reddogart. He also draws a bi-monthly cartoon for 1st Responder news, a connection to his former career as a firefighter/EMT. Mr. Moofs and Melba Blue are his first two books. When not writing author biography’s he is happily working on his next.
